I believe animals improve our lives by reducing stress, well most of the time LOL They have also taught my son responsibility and compassion as well as helped raise his self esteem.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many great children's books out there it is really hard to only have one favorite. We love the Kkippy John Jones series a lot.
ReplyDeleteI'm constantly telling my children how important books are. They free your mind. I read alot of Dr. Seuss to them. They seem to keep picking them out.
ReplyDeleteHaving pets is a great way to learn responsibility and have a furry companion. Because of our pets, my children are very compassionate about animals.
Animals lower blood pressure and help kids succeed by lowering test taking anxiety.
ReplyDeletePercy of course! =D
ReplyDeleteI'm retired and look forward to each day watching my chickens and Pygmy goats.
ReplyDeleteI used to be afraid of birds since I was eight years old from some very mean boys who locked me in a coop and banged on the fence. This made the chickens fly all ove in a frenzy. They scratched my face and scared me. I was scared for 30 years.
ReplyDeleteI grew up, met a wonderful man who showed me compassion and built me a chicken coop, I was not pleased. This chicken coop has now brought me years of love that I share with my children. I share my inspiration with many friends and strangers alike. It was a pleasure reading about Roo. Thank you for a smile in my heart.

ReplyDeleteAfter years passed I met my wonderful husband who built me a chicken coop and brought chickens home. I was not very receptive of this idea. I now love each and every one of the bird who have brought joy to my life and my children's. Thank you for bringing a smile to my heart with Roo's story.
I am an animal lover. We have 2 dogs, 5 indoor cats, 17 guineas, 1 rabbit, 11 Silkies, 10 standard sized mixed breed chickens, and 10 silver laced Wyandotte chicks. Plus there are always anywhere from 2-4 cats hanging around the barn looking for a handout daily.
ReplyDeleteI have found if I am stressed or not feeling well, it helps me to just go out and sit and watch the animals. They relax me.
I love my chickens! My daughter is involved in 4h and shows the chickens @ fair.
ReplyDeleteWe have two special needs chickens, one lives indoors most of the time the other has a private run but sleeps indoors at night.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! we are just starting our flock and our kids are super excited about it!
ReplyDeleteThe sky is falling - another book about chickens of course

You know animals make us laugh (funny things they do), comfort us, and you feel so at peace when they are there.

ReplyDeleteAnimals improve my life bu the excercise I get taking care of them and baling hay and such!
ReplyDeleteAnimals are part of the circle of life and as such we all need to help one another and animals. Animals improve life dramatically: they're funny, loyal, stubborn, difficult, and wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMy kids love all books but my youngest right now loves anything about animals. He just got some new books about rabbits and can not get enough of them.
ReplyDeleteAnimals help teach responsibility and help a child emotionally. Our chickens help teach my kids that their hard work in caring for them gets returned by getting wonderful fresh eggs.
ReplyDeleteMy kids love all books! Right now we are reading everything we can find on chickens as we hatching chickens in my son's Kindergarten Class! Hope we win!!

ReplyDeleteNot really a book, but our favorite is a poem from the "C" volume of the Children's Encyclopedia Britannica my parents got when I was a child. There is a Hiccup poem that never fails to give someone the hiccups when read! :)
ReplyDeleteI always found when I'm around animals I seem less tense and anxious
